Carbon seatpost, nice and light right? That’s kind of what I was thinking when I rode it. Until one day I grabbed my bike to lift it over a toy when I was on my way out of the garage. I heard a sound like ripping felt or wool, and the seat came up in my hand. The carbon seatpost was sheared off close to the top of the seat tube! I had never seen anything like it, I preferred this to happen when I was off the bike, to having it rip apart while I was riding. Still, a little disconcerting.
Needless to say I didn’t purchase a new carbon seat post. My new post is aluminum.
